Life Styles Supported Employment program is based on the belief that successful employment leads to an increase in self-esteem and confidence, which contributes to positive improvements in other areas of an individual’s life. As such, we strive to place individuals in competitive employment rather than sheltered workshop environments, and work to ensure that program participants have training and job options that match their interests and abilities.

Nationally, only 26% of individuals with disabilities are employed. But at Life Styles, 84% of our employment participants work in competitive jobs in the community. Click here for more about how Supported Employment benefits not just its participants, but also their employers!
The Employment Department supports individuals in every aspect of work, from vocational assessment and job development to on-the-job training, follow-along support and, when necessary, job retraining. Individuals served by Life Styles work at a wide variety of jobs in the community, including the University of Arkansas, Tyson Foods Corporate Office, Red Lobster, Walton Arts Center, Target, Chick-Fil-A, McDonald’s, Panera, Wedington Animal Hospital and many others.
Supported Employment also provides school-to-work transitional services to seniors at Fayetteville High School. Students learn how to interview for a job, design a resume, and receive on-the-job training at several Fayetteville businesses.
